Critical Volunteer Needs
The Tuesday Night Food Pantry Volunteer works Tuesdays from 4pm to 7pm with a team of energetic people. Flexible scheduling is available and can range from serving every Tuesday to once a month — or anything in between based on volunteer availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Pantry Volunteers support pantry operations by assisting clients during food distribution. This role primarily involves helping carry groceries and food items to client vehicles while providing a welcoming and respectful experience for each family served.
Volunteers should be able to lift and carry bags weighing approximately 10–15 pounds. This role is a great opportunity to directly serve neighbors in need and make a meaningful impact in the community.
The Wednesday Morning Food Pantry Volunteer
This volunteer role works from 8am to 11am and helps prepare the food pantry for client distribution by unloading trucks, sorting and organizing food, restocking inventory, and staging items for service. This ensures a smooth and efficient client distribution process.
This role requires being active and moving throughout the shift, as well as lifting and carrying boxes and bags up to 40–50 lbs. On-the-job training is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive at 8am
- Unload delivery trucks
- Stag items to prepare for shift
- Be able to lift 40-50 lbs.
Schedule: Wednesdays or Fridays, 10 AM–2 PM
This volunteer role assists with client check-in and food distribution in the drive-thru food pantry area during service hours from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Responsibilities may include receiving identification from clients, making copies, loading food into vehicles, and working with the Warehouse Manager to communicate food inventory needs throughout the shift. Volunteers may also be asked to retrieve personal care items from the warehouse when available.
This role requires being active and moving throughout the shift, as well as lifting and carrying bags weighing up to 15–20 lbs. Volunteers should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. On-the-job training is provided.
There may be periods of downtime depending on the volume of clients utilizing the drive-thru service.
