Volunteer opportunities for GROUPS in the Clothing Closet are 10:00am-2:00pm on the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Group size can be 4-10 people. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Our volunteer groups are asked to open the bags and bins, inspect the clothing to determine if the items are clean and appropriate to be added to the NCM Clothing Closet. Also, volunteers will sort the clothing into categories (tops, pants, dresses , etc.) and place the items on hangers for the NCM Clients. Any out of season items are packed into bins and stored.
Clothing Closet Special projects such as “Seasonal Change-Over” of clothing will occur on specific scheduled dates (i.e. Winter to Summer Switch, Summer to Winter Switch). During this activity, volunteers will help with removing the current season clothing from the shopping area, packing into bins, unpacking upcoming seasonal clothing from storage bins and hanging onto racks. This project will be concentrated into one week to minimize the disruption of shopping for NCM Clients in the closet. The Seasonal Change Over project will take place in late April and late September. If you are interested in this project, please mention it in the "Comments" section of the Volunteer Application.
If you have a desire to help feed those who are in need, please consider hosting a food drive on your job or in the community and delivering the items to NCM. Please see CRITICAL FOOD LIST.
