Eligibility

We offer services to individuals and families living in Norcross, Peachtree Corners and the Gwinnett County portion of Tucker and Doraville.

You must live in our service area

We offer services to individuals and families living in Norcross, Peachtree Corners and the Gwinnett County portion of Tucker and Doraville.

If you live outside these areas, we still want you to find help:

  • If you do not live in our service area, click here for other resources to find agencies that may be able to help you.
  • If you live outside of Gwinnett County, contact United Way at 211 or 404-614-1000 (from a cell
    phone).

There is help available. You are not alone.

It is okay if you are already receiving assistance from other sources, too.

We encourage you to seek out help from other sources. If you are receiving help from other agencies or organizations, that does not prevent us from helping you, too.

Identification for all adults and all children in the home

Photo ID's are required for all adults in the household and ID's for each child in the household must be presented at the time of service. (Children's ID's include Social Security Cards, Medicaid Cards, Birth Certificates, etc.) You do not have to bring all of these examples for the children, but any one will do. We need identification for everyone in the home in order to help.

Current Proof of Residency

Residency documents are required to ensure you are in our service area. If you are not in our service area, we will direct you to the correct agency.ย

ย

Examples are residency proof include:ย  A rental agreement (not older than 1 year), a current utility bill (not older than 30 days) or a current piece of mail (not older than 30 days).

A driverโ€™s license alone will NOT serve as proof of current residency.

Call us at 770-263-8268 if you need more details on this.

For Rental assistance, you MUST have a lease with your name on it

Rental assistance will be paid to the landlord or apartment complex office in the form of a check. You must have a lease with your name on it in order to be considered for this assistance.

If you are in need of hotel assistance, there are very specific requirements for that or we can refer you to another agency for that. Click here for more information regarding emergency financial assistance for hotels in our service area.

Note: We are not able to help you find an apartment.

ย

For Utility assistance, you MUST have a lease with your name on it and current utility bill with your name on it.

We only assist with electricity, gas, and water bills. Payments go to the utility companies in the form of a check.

For Prescription assistance, you must provide a photo ID, current bill in your name, and current prescription or prescription bottle with a refill.

You must be in our service area to receive prescription assistance.

We cannot fill prescriptions for some controlled substance drugs.

We cannot absolutely guarantee assistance even if you have all the above items

Our ability to help depends on a number of factors including the availability of funds at the time.

We want to help and we want you to seek us out, if you need our assistance.

Feel free to call about any of the requirements or to discuss your needs prior to your visit.ย

Contact us at 770-263-8268.
