Curtis, divorced, father of two, lost his job because his company filed Chapter 11.
“Unemployment ran out and so did my family favors. This was a very difficult time because I was close to losing my apartment. I came to NCM not sure if they would be able to help. They assisted me with rent and utilities while I looked for employment, Leslie helped me construct a more effective resume and I landed my current job. Pastor Dean, the chaplain, called and prayed with me to keep me encouraged. The staff at NCM never made me feel ashamed of my situation. They were always positive and encouraging. They truly cared about me. It literally has been life changing.”
In 2015, our Transforming Lives Program (TLP) has helped 13 families transition from homelessness to stable housing. Pictured to the left, Lisa and Anthony and their two sons, Dominick and Robert, were homeless when they came to NCM.
After 6 months of being in our TLP program, they recently moved into their new apartment. The goal of Transforming Lives is to guide families from poverty to economic responsibility and teach life skills and workforce education.
“The Co-op means hope to me and my family. They have helped us stay together as a family and made us grow with God’s will.”

Our Transforming Live Program (TLP) has helped 9 families transition from homelessness to stable housing. Currently, we are also working with 5 more families to move into economic independence.
“Thank you all so much! We thought we would have to remain homeless with our 6 month old baby girl but through GOD and his servants we remain blessed.”
