You'll need some computer skills to enter and update client information as well as online recording of disbursements at the end of the shift.
Also help answer incoming calls, perform general filing and restocking of supplies.
Intake volunteers interview our clients to determine their needs and how we can help them. They also refer clients to other agencies and resources for assistance.
You'll need some computer skills to enter and update client information where applicable. There will be a bilingual person available to help as needed. You will train with an experienced volunteer, and there's always someone around to give you guidance and tips.

Manage the Clothes Closet. Hand out a laundry basket to each client who goes in and count the number of pieces the client brings out, then tidy up at the end of the shift.
As the client finishes up, record disbursements of food & clothing. Enter the number of pieces of clothing as well as the number of bags of food on the client sheet.
The Exit Table volunteer also helps with incoming donations during the shift.
Work in the Food Pantry filling food orders during client hours. Food Pantry Volunteers fill client food orders based on family size and ages of children.
We are always looking for volunteers who are bilingual to help translate for our clients.
